This is the national office website for HLAA (formerly SHHH). Filled with information and ideas for advocacy and links to other groups all over the country.

Louisville Cochlear Implants
This is a local group for people who have or are interested in knowing more about cochlear implants. It has links for implant centers in the area, a diary from someone with a recent implant and links to a lot of relevant info.

The Kentucky Center for the Arts in downtown Louisville offers captioned theater. Check out this list of coming performances.

KCDHH.
The Kentucky Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing involves many of our people provides a needed service for information, TDD Distribution and advocacy leadership.

Parish Without Borders.
The KY connection at this site is Fr. Charlie Dittmeier, who is a Catholic priest of the Louisville diocese and is now a part of Maryknoll, working in Cambodia. His website is fascinating and updated daily with news and observations on life in Southeast Asia. Before Charlie went there about 10 years ago, he was the chaplain for the Louisville Catholic Deaf Community and taught Sign classes in Louisville.

Emergency Email
Emergency email provides immediate info on happenings in weather, news, homeland security, etc. This is a free service and will contact by brief emails when there is something to report. You can tailor in advance what sort of info you want to be told about.

Beyond Hearing.
Beyond Hearing is an online list of 300+ people across the country and around the world who share their thoughts and concerns on a daily basis. Many of them enjoy meeting once a year at the SHHH convention!

Krown Manufacturing
Krown Manufacturing has just recently put out the new Speak and Read VCO that is so popular with our people! It is small -about the size of a pack of cigarettes, and straps onto the earpiece of any phone (landline or cell). This enables a VCO user to use any phone in the world and dial up relay. Check out the site and enjoy!

Pure Direct Sound This website has a different type of loop system - that doesnt really use a loop as such - for listening to TV, stereo etc. While the only person we know of personally who has used it is Denise Portis, it sounds really promising. Have a look!
